Week 3 News and Notes

Birthday Treats We have several September birthdays and the topic of treats began (a lot)!  AAPS policy states that b-day treats should be healthy and/or non-food.  Examples include fruit, veggies, pencils, stickers, etc.  These are just a few.  I know many of you are way more creative than this so I will leave that to you.  J	Water Bottles As stated in a previous email, our drinking fountain does not work part of the time.  I really want to help keep the kids hydrated.  Please feel free to send a water bottle with them daily.  This cuts down on the interruption of them needing to head down the hall for a drink.  Curriculum Night is Tuesday Its time to find out what we are all about curricular wise.  Please see the STEAM News note from Ms. Fitz for specific details.
Week at a Glance Reading – summarizing Math – geometry (circles) Word Work – Essential Word List Spelling Tests Writing – personal narratives, invitations PBL (Project Based Learning Time) – Finishing our Getting to Know You Games	Supplies Thank you to all of the families who donated supplies.  We received almost all that we need.  In the future, we may request specific things for our projects.  Field Trip We have a field trip next week to the Water Treatment Plant.  More information to follow very soon.
